Having a criminal conviction on your record can make it difficult to find employment, housing, and loan opportunities. But did you know that you can conceal some convictions from parties who do not need to know? Thanks to Texas’s non-disclosure laws, you can petition to have certain crimes only accessible by courts, some state agencies and law enforcement, meaning that prospective employers and landlords will not be able to see your criminal past. Let the Tyler non-disclosure lawyers at Rollings Wood & Pace help you move beyond your mistakes and put them behind you.
Call (903) 408-3332 now or contact us onlinefor a free consultation about obtaining a non-disclosure.
What Does It Take to Obtain a Non-Disclosure?
Not all crimes are eligible for a non-disclosure. At Rollings Wood & Pace, we offer free consultations to help our clients understand their chances at having their crimes hidden from the public eye. By calling us right away, we can give you a clear picture of if and when you could be eligible for non-disclosure.
There are two requirements which must be met:
- First, the petitioner may not have been convicted or placed on deferred for a list of restricted offenses. Some of the restricted offenses include but are not limited to: family violence offenses, those offenses requiring sex offender registration, injury to a child, and protective order cases.
- Second, the petitioner must not have been convicted or placed on deferred for any offense other than a fine only traffic offense from the time of sentencing until the waiting period has passed.
You should speak with a criminal defense lawyer who understands the conditions for non-disclosure.
